I'm a freak when it comes to recycled/recovered wood. My jaw dropped when I saw this.  The Kauri is the most ancient tree on the earth. What they are reclaiming are being dug out of peat bogs. These trees are immense and gorgeous. And there is no telling how long they have been in the bogs. Maybe since time of Gandolf, Bilbo, Gollum, and Middle Earth.

Motoring down I-10 west and I see the lights ! Red , blue , you know. Pull over and shut it off , hands on the wheel.

Me-Yes , the one I used to jack the car from that lady in the trunk...!
Officer-You have a lady in the trunk........? !

Back-up shows up and it's his Captain which they proceed to throw me on the ground and cuff me....! They have a little secret conversation , search me and find my wallet...!

Officer-looks through the wallet and says , his license is good!
Captain-There's no gun in the glove box and here are the papers , registration and insurance.....!
Captain-opens the trunk and "Hey , there ain't no lady in this trunk........?
Me- Yeah ,the lying Son-of-a-bitch probably said I was speeding or something too...........!

PETA Crashes Biker Gathering

 What a wonderful coming together of two diverse groups! We need more gatherings where the idiot activists are given warm, moist, aromatic welcomes like this one. This is why PETA usually protests women wearing fur rather than bikers wearing leather. Sounds to me like the old saying, “you mess with the bull, and you get the horns”. Gee, I guess these characters thought that Bikers where going to be politically correct like the rest of the wimpy world.

Gotta laugh a little

A suspected burglar called 911 after the owner of the home he broke into caught and held him at gunpoint.

The suspect, Christopher Moore, placed the emergency call in Springtown, Texas, during the botched burglary attempt early Tuesday after James Gerow, the homeowner, and Gerow's son pointed guns at him as he sat in his pickup truck parked in the driveway.

"I'm out in the country somewhere," Moore told the 911 operator during the 10-minute call. "Some guy's got a gun on me."

Gerow's wife, Lindy, placed a concurrent call to 911 that confirmed Moore's account.

"You better come quick," she said, "or my husband's going to shoot him."

"If he gets out of the truck, shoot him in the legs," James Gerow told his son, according to the Dallas Morning News Crime Blog. "You ain't gotta kill him—just shoot him in the legs."

When police arrived, both Moore and Lindy Gerow were still talking to 911 dispatchers.

According to CBS' Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate, Moore was arrested and charged with burglary. He's currently being held on a $35,000 bond.

Gentlemen: I see that you have chosen to use the horrific crime of the murder of Kasandra Perkins to express your belief that guns are the problem, not the men who wield them. I am utterly certain that you believe that you have the moral high ground on this matter. I am equally certain that such a belief is appallingly wrong, not to mention terribly misogynistic. Why do I say this? Because had your desires on gun control been in place, I would not be alive to be writing this now.


I have an Ex. I have an Ex who, in the process of becoming my Ex, made credible threats to kill me. Why did I believe these threats were credible? Because among the primary reasons why I left him were that he had anger control issues, that he was a problem drinker well on his way to full blown alcoholism and that the things he was throwing at me were getting ever closer to my head. I decided to leave before finally snapped and actually hit me. He was displeased by this and made such displeasure known.
